A shout out to all Mothers out there who may or may not have given birth to another being but has been a part of another child not necessarily their own.
Just anyone who has been a Mother figure to another being and i’m sure have also played a huge role in that person’s life.
To all my aunties whom i have stayed with at our old 3-room flat at Ang Mo Kio avenue 10. All 9 of us under one roof… YES 9 of us.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of us.
Even if this day has been made popular commercially, because we should all appreciate our mothers everyday, anyday, forever but… there is really no harm making this day special for them. They deserve to be treated extra special and have this day anyway.
This day is a big thing for my family as it gives us the opportunity, an excuse actually, to meet, catchup and spend the entire day together as mothers, daughters, nieces and grand-daughters ❤
To my mom whom i called ibuk… i get it now 😂😂. Everytime i was rebellious and we get into an argument, you will end it with “Next time you will understand how i feel when you have your own children!!” in malay of course …
I do now ibuk 😁
And ironically, i tell my teenage son the exact same thing… OMG!! 🤪
To my mom-in-law whom of course, gave birth to my hubby 😂😂 and trained him well to be a great assistant cook and disciplinarian. I thought my mom was garang (fierce) but i was wrong eh…
I am super blessed because, although an only child of a single-parent family, i was brought up in an extended family of aunties and uncles who raised me like their own.
I’ll share who they are in a separate post next time.
To the #Maleeans – i love you all and thank you for a wonderful day today 😍
For your info, i had actually prepared a speech which i planned to read after lunch but dropped the idea as i knew i’d get all emotional and cry buckets even before reading…. 😂 i’m such a wimp 😂
Anyways… hope everyone had a good one.
